zero sugar — so what's making it sweet?
maltitol and isomalt. they're sugar alcohols, not sugars — a different molecule your body handles differently. about 2 calories per gram against 4 for sugar, and they don't feed the bacteria that cause tooth decay. we put the 5g figure in the spec strip rather than the small print because you'd have found it anyway.
is that just sugar with a fancy name?
no, but it isn't nothing either. maltitol has a glycemic index around 35–52 against 65 for table sugar. lower, not zero. if you're monitoring blood glucose, talk to your doctor before adding any supplement, including this one.
will sugar alcohols upset my stomach?
